Various horizon lines drawn from the window of the 11:30am to London Paddington, going through Bath Spa, Chippenham, Swindon, Didcot Parkway. September 2014.

“Not sure if you have tried drawing on a train, most people are too close for you to study without causing a uncomfortable situation and generally stuff is going passed so quickly outside you need a super fast photographic memory to get it in your brain before you can decide how to represent it on the page. So I decided to go for the horizon, because that goes pass slower and if you miss a bit it doesn’t look too weird if you just join on to the continuation.”.

“This was a stunning entry, with the success of the whole show entirely dependent on the skill of the Effects team. The textures and liquids they created were so realistic that the jury felt completely immersed, forgetting they weren’t watching a real embryo. An extraordinary piece of work.”
Yes, I’ve been pretty shaken up over the last week. Who hasn’t. The drawings here were all made before last Tuesday’s news.
This week I’ve been putting all my energy into redecorating our kitchen, so I haven’t managed drawing yet.
Hopefully soon though.

Another Animated Journal loop from my Stories. That’s’s me on the audio again, this time called “Clap Loop”. It’s a documentation of my short trip to pick up the children from youth club.
Great news.
You can see the full list of nominees here.
Excellent work and congratulations to the rest of Team BDH. The final result was a perfect blend of many peoples work, modelling, rigging, sculpting, rendering, lighting and compositing with the BDH signature analogue elements.
Fingers crossed for the 28th.
(You know, it’s the one with all the babies.)
Yes, I’ve been posting these small animated “Viney” loops on IG & SC Stories, but obviously they only play once there then they’re gone. Not substantial enough for YouTube or Vimeo so posting them on Instagram for evergreen seems to be the way.
Maybe once I’ve got a set I should put them into a full sequence similar to the first Animated Journal.
I’ll continue to blog them here as and when I update, in the meantime follow me on Snapchat or Instagram to get more instant updates.
I updated my front page with some GIFs, to jazz it up a bit, but also to simplify and to give people a better first impression of what I am about.
I’m a bit concerned the loading time might be affected by the heavy file size.
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
